Dual-cylinder technology is probably coming to Hyundai CNG vehicles

In May of this year, Hyundai filed for a trademark for the names Hy-CNG and Hy-CNG Duo. The former name appears to be the company’s new CNG vehicle naming scheme, while the latter term suggests the introduction of dual-cylinder technology. A year ago, Tata Motors became the first company to offer twin-cylinder tanks for its CNG vehicles. With all of its CNG vehicles, including the Altroz, Tiago, Punch, and Tigor, the technology is now available.
In contrast to a traditional CNG automobile with a single huge CNG cylinder, the dual-cylinder technology, as the name implies, essentially uses two smaller CNG cylinders instead of a single large one, boosting the cargo capacity. Be aware that Hyundai has not yet verified the information.
With beginning costs as low as Rs 7.68 lakh, the Grand i10 Nios is currently the most reasonably priced CNG vehicle available in India. Prices for the Aura and Exter CNG range from Rs 8.31 lakh to Rs 9.05 lakh and Rs 8.43 lakh to Rs 9.16 lakh, respectively. It is unclear if Hyundai plans to expand the CNG lineup with additional models or add new amenities to the CNG cars in addition to the dual-cylinder technology.
All costs are ex-showroom in India.
